BEST MATERIALS FOR EVEN MORE PERFORMANCE
Do you know that feeling when a shirt fits perfectly – it doesn't scratch, doesn't stick, and you just don't want to take it off?! You get exactly that feeling with Merino-Tencel. This fabric blend is a real game-changer – and in our blog post, we tell you why we rely on it at ROTAUF.
WHY YOU WILL LOVE THE MERINO-TENCEL FABRIC MIX
When you have the opportunity to choose the "perfect" fabric for your outdoor and sportswear, it quickly becomes clear that it takes more than just comfort and looks. Sustainability, functionality, and a good feel on the skin are also crucial aspects. One fabric blend that meets all of these requirements is the Merino-Tencel blend.
Imagine soft, temperature-regulating Merino wool meets smooth, moisture-wicking Tencel fiber, sourced from sustainable wood. These two fibers are spun into a yarn by finely twisting them together. This happens in a meticulous process that bonds the fibers together to perfectly complement each other. The result is a fabric that supports you in every situation: it keeps you warm when it's cool and ensures you feel fresh when it warms up.
It couldn't be more sustainable
The targeted combination of these two different fibers creates a highly functional blended fabric – both materials have naturally exceptional properties that complement each other perfectly, resulting in a functional, comfortable, and sustainable fabric. While Merino wool provides natural and balanced warmth and breathability, Tencel supports moisture regulation and the resulting pleasant feel on the skin. This combination utilizes the strengths of both fibers to create a material that is perfect for sophisticated outdoor clothing or everyday wear – especially for those who value comfort and sustainability. Furthermore, you're doing yourself and the environment a world of good, because our Merino wool is certified organic. The EXP process we use in processing the fabric ensures that the material remains particularly resilient and durable. This process strengthens the fibers and protects the clothing from premature wear. Tencel, which also comes from sustainably managed forests, perfectly complements the Merino wool.

KBT and EXP certified
ECO Merino
Merino wool is a true natural talent! It keeps you warm when it's cold and cool when you start to sweat. It also remains odor-free for a long time – completely chemical-free. The secret? Its fine, soft, and elastic fibers, which are naturally temperature-regulating and kind to skin.
kbT – Because animal welfare matters
For our wool, we rely on certified organic animal husbandry (kbT) – the highest standard for species-appropriate husbandry. While many outdoor brands rely on the less stringent RWS standard, we make no compromises. Because for us, sustainable means good for animals, people, and the environment.
EXP – Environmentally friendly finish
To make your merino clothing machine washable, we use the chlorine-free EXP process – without plastic and without harmful chemicals. This keeps the wool naturally soft and skin-friendly, just as it should be.

Tencel™ Lyocell
Tencel™ Lyocell is a textile fiber derived from wood, and its many beneficial properties make it so special: Its surface is smooth like silk, it provides almost as much warmth as sheep's wool, cools like linen, and is far more absorbent than cotton. Sustainable raw material extraction, environmentally friendly production in a closed-loop process, and exemplary use of natural resources make it the most environmentally friendly textile fiber of all.
